London 2012

Is there such a thing as an Olympic hangover? If so, I believe it's what I'm experiencing at the moment. We've had two awesome weeks of constant action. During work and after work. We created new daily routines, and every day was exciting. I watched all sports, and was excited about it. Even the ones I barely knew existed.  Wrestling, BMX, taekwondo. You name it! I think everyone in this town embraced the olympic spirit, and realised that something like this don't come along often. (or they did the opposite and locked themselves in their house and didn't come out for two weeks.)

London was an amazing city to be in, everyone was happy and friendly. Especially all the volunteers that worked at the events (Which made it even clearer how shit London's customer service usually is ) . And the city was calmer that usual, there was actually seats on the tube when going through central. Even the weather has been great!

.. and today, we went back to normal. Back to normal routines. No more screaming in the office when Team GB takes a medal (which, may I add, happened way too often..) . It feels empty, like a friend who was visiting just left.

Except that this friend was pretty expensive for London...

But it was so worth it!

A new curly hair crush.

I heard this song on the radio this morning: Matthew P - Long straight lines. Kind of really like it. Both the song and his hair..

Swedish Midsummer

Probably the biggest Swedish midsummer celebration I've been to, and I wasn't even in Sweden. Picnic in Hyde Park with everything one can need for the occasion... Kubb, ringdans, köttbullar, jordgubbstårta, kladdkaka, dillchips and all the other stuff. A little piece of home, away. Just lovely!

Alabama shakes.

Excuse me, but they are brilliant..

Swedish midsummer for dummies.

Pox, I hate you.

Today I'm gonna beat my chickenpox, and enter the outside world.  I just washed my hair for the first time in a week. I'm about to put on make up for the first time in a week. I'm also going to do a clothes change, for the first time in a couple of days. I realise now how gross I've been. My face still looks a bit like a pepperoni pizza but at least it's not contagious anymore, and I just don't care. I will go crazy if I stay inside this apartment one more day!

What does chickens have to do with this anyway?

Moonight Cinema

I love outdoors cinemas. A thing that worked better in Australia, obviously, because of the weather. Over here, you can't really know what's gonna happen. But it doesn't make it less magic. I remember when Josh and I had just met, we went to see "Where wild things are" at the moonlight cinema at centennial park in Sydney. It was dark, there was stars out, and there were bats (or flying foxes as they are over there ) flying over our heads. I don't think I would've liked that movie if I saw it anywhere else , but there, it was brilliant.  There definitely is something about watching a movie under the stars wrapped in a blanket with a good picnic... SO, Londoners, here comes your chance this summer: PopUpScreens , lots of good movies coming up , for example Office space, Anchorman,  Taken, Donnie Darko etc ...

The british builder's secret.

This is how lovely our bathroom looks at the moment. The builders came because our water boiler has been acting stupid, and they did this aswell while they were here. And then left it. I had no idea this was what it looked like under there.. and I'm glad I didn't. Did they really think wood and water is a good combination when they built this? Our whole apartment now smells like rotten wood. But that was not the main issue, the whole boiler is Kaaaputt (his words, not mine) and the whole thing needs to be changed. I got a feeling this will take some time. Until then, no hot water, and we have a reason to go to the gym every day...

Brunch buddy

Omelette with ham and sundried tomatoes and ovenbaked cherry tomatoes on the side. It might look like vomit to you, but it taste like heaven in my mouth.
